A Bit about myself
My name is Jo, and I am a fully qualified, experienced Person Centred Counsellor. I offer one to one counselling sessions, which are face to face or remote. I work within the BACP guidelines ( British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists).
I have a wealth of life experience which has enabled me to help others in a similar situation. Because of my own past experiences I find it effortless to empathise with others, seeing the world how they see it for themselves.
I am described by my manager as having a “Genuine empathy and a wealth of life experience”
For a number of years I have helped people with the effects of domestic abuse and provided coping skills for the following:
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Trauma
-
Panic Attacks
-
Bereavement
-
Low self esteem
With the skills I provide, my clients have been able to find newer versions of themselves which is extremely rewarding.
A bit about my practice.
Free assessments are provided prior to any booking. I provide discounts for clients who receive a low income.
My private practice is set in a safe, confidential environment, with a non- judgemental approach. my sessions are 50 minutes long and are advised that a series of weekly sessions are beneficial ( although the frequency and number of sessions are for the client to decide) Complete autonomy is given to all of my clients.
I am qualified and experienced in remote counselling also. This gives the client a choice to either stay at home, or see me face to face. I provide my remote sessions by either telephone or zoom.

“ Growth occurs when individuals confront problems ,struggle to master them, and through that struggle develop new aspects of their skills, capacities, views about life”.
